Samba 4.23.0rc1 is the first release candidate for Samba 4.23, designed for testing purposes only. It includes new features such as enabling SMB3 Unix Extensions by default, adding support for SMB3 over QUIC, modern write time update logic, the initial version of smb_prometheus_endpoint, samba-tool improvements, and smb.conf changes. Reporting bugs and development discussions can be found on the samba-technical mailing list or IRC channel. The source code can be downloaded from the Samba website.
